Dr Klelia Petrou has 11 years working experience in Fire Engineering: 7 years working in the UK; 3 years as a PhD researcher in Northern Ireland; and 4 years in London as Fire Safety Engineer, and 4 years in Cyprus.

Klelia studied Mechanical & Aeronautical Engineering in Patras University and has an MSc and PhD in Fire Safety Engineering from Ulster University.

In 2019 she has established and managing F.A.B.S Fire in Cyprus, a fire safety engineering consultancy company for offering consultancy services in the design, construction and managing buildings in regards with the Fire Safety.

At the European University Cyprus, she is a scientific collaborator and guest lecturer for various modules in the MSc Occupational Safety & Health, preparing training courses and seminars. She is also collaborating with the Fire Brigade Academy and University of Cyprus for teaching Fire Officers candidates.

Klelia is continuously working on personal development and always updates her expertise on new codes, regulations and standards as well as research, technologies (such as BIM), and methodologies applied in Fire Engineering. She has interests in improving the processes of multidisciplinary design and the integration of architecture with engineering.

She an associate member of Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) and the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE), including the SFPE Chapter Cyprus.
