I have been successfully re-elected for eight, two-year terms of office making me the longest serving volunteer Director for the Fire Industry Association. My current role is Vice Chairman, and I have enjoyed numerous roles to help strengthen the association from chairing finance, competency schemes, strategy, membership retention, integration of allied trade associations & growth overseas. I have represented the FIA at many levels with external bodies and following the Grenfell tragedy, I sat on working group 4 (competency) for the Hackitt review.

Following tireless canvassing of stakeholders in the UK, my personal mission has been to assist in the authoring of competency schemes for fire engineering, in particular the BRE/ LPS launch LPS1204.3 scheme covering design, installation, commissioning, & handover of condensed aerosol fire suppression systems.

I am a member of various other fire related trade associations, and my 40-year career in the UK fire systems engineering business, has enabled a strong understanding in all facets from strategy, sales & marketing, operational business management, pragmatic fire systems engineering, retained confident staff, and great customer service.
